Following two successful programs, produced in partnership with the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation, PlatformQ Health is pleased to announce an all-new program for patients and caregivers on Neuroendocrine Tumors that will premiere live at 1pm ET on August 14, 2019 on CancerCoachLive.
The two previous programs focused specifically on carcinoid syndrome, a condition that effects a subset of patients who have neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). We’re excited to release a program that serves a broader group of people who have NETs, serving a larger patient base and expanding the video resources available to CCF’s membership.
This program will be moderated by a pianist and patient advocate who lives with NETs, Giovanna Imbesi, who also joined us for our first program on carcinoid syndrome. She’ll be joined by Grace Goldstein, the Chief Operating Officer of the Carcinoid Cancer Foundation and Dr. Edward Wolin, Professor of Medicine and Director of the Center for Carcinoid and Neuroendocrine Tumors at Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.
These three experts will field questions from the audience, and review:
- What factors influence how NETs develop over time
- Signs, and symptoms of the disease
- The role different health care providers play on a NETs care team, and how they work together
- How people facing NETs can communicate symptoms effectively and become an active participant in treatment decisions
Interested parties can save a virtual seat to join the live session, or receive a recording afterwards.
